A quiet kind of True Love

Reconnecting to a quieter kind of love, the type that is nurturing and gentle, has been a long and sometimes confusing road.

I used to expect love to feel loud, obvious, fast and fiery. For sure, when it comes to romantic love especially, volatile passion and thumping hearts are exciting and wonderful expressions.

But expecting that as the best or right type of love came from the influence of many movies and books and our culture in general.

For a long time on our planet, there has been more celebration of the masculine energy including hot expressions of love. It’s all one, however there is yin and yang within the oneness, and the feminine aspects of love are due some extra, well... love.

The concept of an all-encompassing and more patient love is a newer one for me. It’s always been there, a nurturing rolling depth of peace that doesn’t shout for attention, and I’ve come to appreciate it with far more depth…

It feels like sacred feminine energy, present everywhere and in everything - and the more we listen and feel with our inner sense, the more this love is palpable in its power.

In honour of that, we’ve created a new True Love candle, released in January to start 2023 with a gentle glow. It’s made with the intention of setting an intimate mood that is tender in its passion, to help you further connect to a deeper, quieter love within yourself or with a lover.

True Love has been curated with a gorgeous blend of essential oils with magical properties known to inspire love, sensuality and connection:

  • Ylang Ylang promotes feelings of romance and passion. Its exotic, intoxicating, grounding properties promote calm while uplifting emotions.

  • Jasmine is known for its aphrodisiac effects. It elevates the mood while increasing romantic feelings and energy levels. Jasmine flowers often feature in the bedrooms of newlyweds in India to set the mood for romance.

  • Grapefruit gently stimulates the heart, solar plexus and third eye chakras, helping restore our power while supporting self-love.

  • Patchouli has a deep, earthy and arousing scent for both men and women. It is grounding while also activating the pituitary gland, causing a spike in love endorphins in the bloodstream.

In celebration, I hope you also enjoy this beautiful poem by Beau Taplin that speaks right to my heart.

‘I have found with you a Quiet Love. One grounded not in need but in care and in tenderness.

One that listens before it rises up to speak.

One that does not strike out or retreat in the face of each challenge but instead welcomes the lesson and opportunity for growth.

Yours is a love that is both selfless and patient.

One that gives without thought of what it might receive in return.

It is through You my heart at last has learned that it is not fire, but the calm, gentle quiet that True Love makes its home.’

- Beau Taplin -

Wishing you love.
